It's held in place by the two middle upper panels forcing the window panels outwards and creating a snug fit, preventing the panels from moving around. In other words, the panels are designed to be so well fitting, that we do not need to fix into the vehicle anywhere, in order to secure the system. It's easy to remove this system if you have a requirement to do so, but often it can stay in place day to day, as it does not sit low enough to encroach on the rear space by much.
